Homeschool Support Groups

The following is a list of local support groups, many with park/play days, organized by county (we suggest that you look for groups in counties adjacent to yours too). CHN has compiled this list as a service to homeschoolers, and no endorsement should be implied. If you attend a park day and do not enjoy it, consider going a few more times to get more comfortable, try a different group, or start your own (be sure to tell us!).

We do not knowingly list businesses or resource centers here, so please make sure your group is a true support (or play) group before contacting CHN. We also request that you accurately describe your group, so that new homeschoolers will know if it is one they might want to visit. If yours is a faith based group, or one that follows a particular philosophy, please state it. If your group is closed to the public, it should not be listed here.

CHN needs your help to keep this page current. Please inform us if any information in this directory is inaccurate. Please indicate the county you represent when emailing. Thank you.

To have your group listed, please use our Support Group Application.

Support Groups are listed by county.

Christian Home Educators of San Francisco

https://homeschoolsf.wixsite.com/chesf

Welcome to our community of Christian homeschooling parents living in San Francisco, SFO, and San Bruno areas who are actively homeschooling! We exist to encourage & support one another to live out the calling God has placed in their hearts to homeschool their children while at the same time connecting the hearts of homeschooling parents with one another in authentic community both within CHESF and the surrounding Bay Area. We believe this is achieved through personal relationships that are fostered both in person at our park days, CHARM Nature Studies, field trips, and other gatherings both on a weekly and monthly basis as well as online in our Facebook group. At CHESF, we welcome all homeschooling parents at all stages of their journey and those who are interested in homeschooling, regardless of the path they choose. Whether you decide to homeschool independently, utilize co-ops, charter schools, online schools, or something in between we understand each homeschool path is unique to the family and their values and most importantly is designed to meet the needs of the child(ren). We ask that all members respect the private choices that each family has made in this regard. We value and accept each others differences and know that what unites us is our shared faith in Christ and our love, care, and concern for our children and their education. We understand at CHESF that homeschooling is the road less traveled and because of this we want to strive to ensure that each homeschooling parent is supported on their journey with love in Christ and knows who their tribe is so they don’t have to walk this path alone. We are a group of families homeschooling intellectually gifted children in the San Francisco Bay area. We share resources, organize real-life get-togethers, and serve as a local support network for families navigating the exciting and sometimes turbulent place where giftedness meets homeschooling. Homeroom Education

http://www.homeroomeducation.com

Let Homeroom Education help you on your educational journey. Make a mess + make friends = joyful learning.
We are a nonprofit Learning Studio and Makerspace located in San Jose (near Willow Glen) providing hands-on educational enrichment experiences for school-aged children and their families.
Our classes, workshops, and community events take a project-based approach to teaching and learning, designed to boost critical 21st-century skills and created to combine fun and learning.
Through collaborative discussions, demonstrative building projects, student-led experiments, and group activities our students actually do the things they are learning. By experiencing the subjects, students increase their level of retention and understanding significantly; along with their love of learning.
In our newly expanded Makerspace, we provide opportunities for the community to explore their curiosities, try new things, and learn something valuable with our project-based approach.
