Volunteering
CHN is an all-volunteer organization of energetic and dedicated homeschooling families working to preserve our own educational freedom. CHN monitors and responds to legislation which may pose a threat to homeschooling. We also inform and empower homeschooling families, educate the public, and foster community among home educators in the state of California. If you would like to volunteer to help us support homeschooling families, both new and veterans, through outreach and events, please contact Rhonda Hamilton at volunteers@californiahomeschool.net.
Our Mission:
California Homeschool Network is an inclusive, statewide homeschooling organization serving families across a diverse spectrum of homeschooling styles and philosophies.
California Homeschool Network exists to protect the fundamental right of the family to educate its children in the manner it deems appropriate without regulation or interference by federal, state, or local agencies.
California Homeschool Network monitors and responds to legislation which may pose a threat to homeschooling, and to this end, maintains a dialog with local, state, and national homeschooling organizations.
California Homeschool Network serves to inform and empower homeschooling families, educate the public, and foster community among home educators in the state of California.
CHN is a great organization, and it can only get better with you here to help! Whatever your level of availability or experience, we have a spot for you among our volunteer force. Our wide range of needs include many things, from a few hours spent helping with an activity at the annual Family Expo to a few hours a week (or less) commitment serving as a committee chair and many things in between. Check out our Volunteer Openings pages below to learn more about how you can help and don’t hesitate to contact our Volunteer Chair for details at volunteers@californiahomeschool.net.
