Historic Adventures
David and Ann Severi
Would you like your children to dance with Ulysses Grant and
Robert E. Lee "in person"? Perhaps they could learn to dance like Indians and

imaginations expand if they could walk the streets portraying children from Oliver
Twist, or conversing with the ghost of Jacob Marley? We are experienced homeschoolers
and reenactors who will show you how to immerse your family in historic, cultural,
and literary events here in Southern California. Anyone can attend these events,

few days? Drama, history, literature, science, cooking -- it's all here in a
fascinating context which makes "living" and "learning" a shared family adventure.

Center for Innovation in Southern California, inventor and futurist Ben Cooper

again leading the way in working with Ben to learn and then develop applications
with this computer language. Ben would like more homeschooelrs to get involved

How to Teach Math so Children Will Ask for More
Kathleen Cotter Lawler
Parents often find math difficult to teach because they themselves do not
have a good foundation. Math is discovering patterns and relationships, so much more than

mastering the facts. Hands-on learning and visual strategies help master the facts and solve
problems. This workshop
will introduce you to a new way to teach math--one both you and your child will enjoy.

Why Youth Digital Arts?
Craig Davis
Craig Davis from the Youth Digital Arts CyberSchool has the
perspective that with the proper courses and support youth from 3rd grade, 8
years old, through high school can create professional level musical compositions,
canvas paintings, animations, video games, films and documentaries, and Manga/Anime
comics now. Young people love and are attracted to these media, which at their
root are just different forms of digital storytelling and have great potential
linkages to core curriculum. Craig believes that waiting until university to
experience the exciting opportunities offered in the digital arts is 10 years
wasted. (See the documentary “Girls Designing Video Games” in the News section
of the Youth Digital Arts CyberSchool at www.ydacs.com.)
